Artist's Description

I have always been drawn to unfinished pieces of art, the mystery of what it would look like "finished" and the glimpse into the artist's process for creating the work fascinate me. This work is based on a quick pencil sketch of a live model. I turned it into a painting to add color and interest to an otherwise ordinary figure drawing. It is left "unfinished" intentionally. The unfinished background gives it contrast and affects the composition in a dynamic way. The unfinished, loose treatment of the figure gives it gesture and movement.
